Interactive installation containing 7 sculptures specially created for the Industriada festival in Poland at the Guido coal Mine museum in Zabrze, and the Extraschicht festival in Germany at the Zollverein coalmine in Essen. The installation focusses on a reactivation of the previously so active surroundings and terains of both factories. Nowadays in use as a museum and a place to organize concerts and other events. Before a hars place full of nioise, mechanic movements, blinking lights and coincidental smoke. In a way the rotative interaction reminds of the rotating mechanizm used in colamines for moving the elevator.
Each of the ten sculptures generates its own specifik sound and light. Simply by rotating the full object the interactor can change the sound being generated. The whole orchestra together form a noisy, chaotic coincidental futuristic reactivation in sound a light of the factory terrains. Users don’t need any musical background to be a sound generating part of the orchestra, this way anyone can play and generate.
The sculptures are made of a reflecting metal combined with hardened glass. Sculptures reflect eachothers light, which combined with the rotating leads to a constantly changing apearance of the sculptures. The material reminds os of the harse surroundings of the factory, but its reflection opposes to that and make the objects stand out of its surroundings. From day to night during the changing of surounding natural light the sculptures more and more show their secretive inside.
